Winter TBR

Winter is upon us, so you know what that means! It's time to break out the blankets and hot tea, and snuggle up in bed reading a good book all day 😍

This winter I hope to read:
1) Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

I am currently reading this book and just got to part 3, or page 185. I am really enjoying this one, and my goal is to finish it before the start of 2018!

Synopsis: The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around—and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he’s been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance or lose his dream forever.
What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving?
The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries—including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo’s dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? And if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?
Welcome to Weep.

2. Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab

I have been meaning to get to this book for literally forever because I loved Our Savage Song, but for some reason I keep putting it off! I think it's because I know that I am going to get sucked into it and I'm going to want to read it in like 3 days, so I am afraid to read it while I'm at school. Who knows, maybe it will be good for me and it will make me take a break from all the homework!

Synopsis:
THE WORLD IS BREAKING. AND SO ARE THEY.
KATE HARKER isn't afraid of monsters. She hunts them. And she's good at it.
AUGUST FLYNN once yearned to be human. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.
THE WAR HAS BEGUN.
THE MONSTERS ARE WINNING.
Kate will have to return to Verity. August will have to let her back in. And a new monster is waiting—one that feeds on chaos and brings out its victims' inner demons.
Which will be harder to conquer: the monsters they face, or the monsters within?

3. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

I got Scarlet and Cress of the Lunar Chronicles for Christmas this year (thanks mom!), and I am SO PUMPED to finally get to read the next book in the series! I read Cinder in the fall, and I really enjoyed it. I am so interested to see where this story goes because Cinder ended on such a cliff hanger!

Synopsis: Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

4. Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills

I got this book in an Uppercase box, which I received as a gift for Christmas this year (thanks Gram!). I will have more about the whole Uppercase box in my unboxing post to come soon! I am really excited to get to Foolish Hearts because I've been hearing so much about it lately, and I have never read a book by Emma Mills!

Synopsis: A contemporary novel about a girl whose high school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream leads her to new friends—and maybe even new love.
The day of the last party of the summer, Claudia overhears a conversation she wasn't supposed to. Now on the wrong side of one of the meanest girls in school, Claudia doesn't know what to expect when the two are paired up to write a paper—let alone when they're both forced to try out for the school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
But mandatory participation has its upsides—namely, an unexpected friendship, a boy band obsession, and a guy with the best dimpled smile Claudia's ever seen. As Claudia's world starts to expand, she finds that maybe there are some things worth sticking her neck out for.

That is by whole TBR for this winter season! You can keep up with my progress by following my Goodreads, or I will be back at the end of February with a wrap up to tell you about all the books I end up reading. Please leave a comment down below and let me know what books you plan to read this season, as I would love to chat with you! Thank you for reading!
