My Favorite Books of 2017

Image
2017 has flown by, but not without leaving behind some really awesome books. This year as a whole has been a more challenging one for me, but I did read a few books that have stuck with me along the way. In case you want to check them out yourself, I will have each one linked to where you can buy them! Here is my list of books that have stayed with me and left an impression this year: A List of Cages by Robin Roe Amazon I loved this book so much! I borrowed this book from the library, and I so wish I could have kept it! I gave this book a 4.5 out of 5 stars. The Unbound by Victoria Schwab Amazon The first book I ever read by Victoria Schwab was The Archived, and I loved it! This was the equally fantastic sequel that I read this year. I gave this book a five out of five stars. The only thing I wish is that THE PUBLISHER WOULD LET HER WRITE THE THIRD BOOK!! Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys Amazon Ruta Sepetys is one of my all time favorite authors, so all of h...

Winter TBR

Winter is upon us, so you know what that means! It's time to break out the blankets and hot tea, and snuggle up in bed reading a good book all day 😍 This winter I hope to read: 1) Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor  I am currently reading this book and just got to part 3, or page 185. I am really enjoying this one, and my goal is to finish it before the start of 2018! Synopsis:  The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around—and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he’s been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance or lose his dream forever. What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exac...

Hi guys! I'm so sorry that I'm the worst and this is so late! School and finals always consume me, and i can't ever seem to make time for things I actually want to do. Summer Wrap Up!

Hello everyone! I can't believe summer is already over, and we are headed into fall! It feels like just yesterday it was May and I had just finished my freshman year, but here I am sitting in my dorm room almost finished with my first month of sophomore year! Today I'm snuggling up in bed because classes have been cancelled because of the storms coming off of Hurricane Irma, and I thought it would be a great time to catch up on a couple blog posts that I've been meaning to get up! This summer I had a bit of a slow start to my reading, but I ended up reading a total of 10 books from June through August! I am really happy with this. I'll list the books down below as well as my rating and some brief thoughts on each! Go get your own snuggly blanket and enjoy! This book was crazy. I just don't understand how one person can come up with such an in depth world and a plot line that keeps you on the edge of your seat! Cassandra Clare is just a magical being, that is ...

The Rosie Project Review

Image
Author: Graeme Simsion Publisher: Simon & Schuster Pages: 297 Rating: ★★★★ Synopsis: The Rosie Project follows Don Tillman, a middle-aged, socially awkward, brilliant college genetics professor on a quest to see if he can find true love. We follow the story through his point of view as he goes through the trials of finding love through his invention, The Wife Project. While conducting this experiment, he meets Rosie Jarman who is the exact opposite of all the criteria that Don has set out to find in the Wife Project. However, Rosie is on her own mission, to find out who her real father is and she is in need of a geneticist. As the two form an unlikely relationship we get to follow Don as he realizes that love isn't always what it seems and it is not always what looks good on paper. Positives: I really enjoyed this book. I loved Don from the very beginning. I thought that the author did a really great job of showing us who Don truly was through his thoug...
