Fall TBR + Reading Journal Set Up

Image
Hello, friends! I can't believe that summer has come to an end and it is already fall! If someone could just let the Georgia weather know that it is no longer summer, that would be awesome 🙈 Even if it isn't quite cold enough to break out the fall clothes yet here in Georgia, I will still be getting cozy with my fairy lights and a mug of tea to read in my room! Also today is a super exciting because.....I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22!! It's my birthday! 🎂 What better way to spend your birthday than to daydream about all the books you want to read in the coming months, am I right?? So let's get into it! 1. Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (audio) Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now. Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and

Rotherweird Review

Image
Hello, friends! I am so excited for today's post because this is my first book review for a book that was sent to me by a publisher! I feel like I have reached a milestone as a blogger now, and I am so excited and thankful! 😄 I am working with Quercus books for this review as they sent me Rotherweird in exchange for an honest review! So, with that, onward to the book! Title: Rotherweird Author: Andrew Caldecott Publisher: Quercus Pages: 452 Publication Date: July 30, 2019 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Synopsis The town of Rotherweird stands alone - there are no guidebooks, despite the fascinating and diverse architectural styles cramming the narrow streets, the avant garde science and offbeat customs. Cast adrift from the rest of England by Elizabeth I,  Rotherweird's independence is subject to one disturbing condition: nobody, but nobody, studies the town or its history.  For beneath the enchanting surface lurks a secret so dark that it must never be rediscove

Books I'm Taking to College!

Image
Hi, friends! We have already come to the end of summer (well, for school anyway), and it is time to move back to college! I am actually moving back tomorrow, so I am trying to soak up every last bit of summer relaxation I can today while I'm home. I can't believe that is already time to move back and start my senior year! *insert terrified but excited gif here* This year I am trying something a little bit different than I have in years past. Usually, I use like half of my desk shelf space for my books at school, but this is just not very feasible as sad as that is. I really need the space for textbooks, notebooks, and miscellaneous stuff in my room! So, instead, I have decided to only take 4 physical books with me this year. To be fair, my home is only 35ish minutes away from my school, so it isn't very hard for me to trade out books as I read them. My plan is to utilize my Scribd subscription more this year. I don't know why I have never thought to do this but l

With the Fire on High Review

Hello, friends! It has been a hot minute since I have done a book review, but I am finally in the mood to write again! It was mostly because of this book that I got out of my blogging slump. I loved With the Fire on High so much that I really wanted to write a review, so I could fangirl over all the things I loved about it! Here is the basic info: Title: With the Fire on High Author: Elizabeth Acevedo Publisher: HarperAudio Format: Audiobook Length: 7 hours 27 minutes Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Synopsis:  With her daughter to care for and her abuela to help support, high school senior Emoni Santiago has to make the tough decisions, and do what must be done. Still, she knows she doesn't have enough time for her school's new culinary arts class, doesn't have the money for the class&

Reading Rush 2019 Wrap Up

Image
Hi, friends! I have had so much fun the past week participating in the Reading Rush! I have participated in the Reading Rush (formerly Booktubeathon) for 3 years now, and this year was by far the most fun I've had. I loved the new website, participating more on Twitter, and all the books that I read! I feel super accomplished this year, as I did pretty well! I didn't put too much pressure on myself, I just read as much as I could while still enjoying myself. Overall, I think I did pretty well considering that I worked two days this week and did some wedding planning stuff this weekend! Here are my final stats: (images are from my profile on the Reading Rush website. They did an awesome job designing!) Total Books Read: 3.75 Fullmetal Alchemist Volumes 7-9 by Hiromu Arakawa Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan  The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas  (Most of) Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz At midnight last night I only had

Reading Rush Check In

Image
Hi, friends! We are officially (a bit over) halfway through the Reading Rush for 2019! What a fun time it has been so far. I wanted to check in with you guys about how my reading is going thus far, what badges I've earned, how many books I've completed, etc. I am actually really happy with my progress as I did have to work all day on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, so I think I've done well all things considered! This picture is my little nod to today's booktube video challenge to show off your book nook. This is the spot that I have done the vast majority of my reading this week as well as just always. I love my Pride and Prejudice pillow, my back rest, and my (not in the picture) pink bedside lamp from Target! Okay, onward to what I have read! Here are my stats so far: Number of books read: 2  Fullmetal Alchemist volumes 7-9 by Hiromu Arakawa Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan Badges earned: 8  2019 Reading Rush reader  Read a book with purple on th

The Reading Rush TBR!

Image
Hello, friends! Long time, no see! I have not been very active on my blog or on Twitter because school is just crazy, and I can never keep up during the school year. I know that it has been like half the summer by now, but I just felt like I really needed this break. I have just been enjoying the time to relax and read! BUT, I am super excited to finally be writing a blog post again! I have decided to participate in The Reading Rush this year, formally known as Booktubeathon. I am so excited that they have rebranded to include even more of the bookish community, so we can all come together and participate! The Reading Rush will be happening July 22 at midnight in your timezone through July 28! There are Youtube video challenges if you have a channel, Bookstagram challenges if you have Instagram, and lots of fun reading sprints over on their Twitter! You can follow them @TheReadingRush and join in on the fun!  ALSO, they have created a really cool website this year where yo
